Code of Conduct

All attendees agree to the following clause (in practice since 2021 and in the attendee event booklet): Attendees must respect commonsense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property during PoleCon.

Attendees must receive explicit verbal or non-verbal consent before any interaction that involves physical contact.

Attendees must respect current and applicable rules and regulations for safety regarding COVID-19.

PoleCon reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the convention pass and/or workshop passes of any attendee not in compliance with this policy at PoleCon and/or before PoleCon if a legitimate safety concern is warranted as defined by PoleCon staff and relevant legal counsel.

Persons finding themselves in a situation where they feel their physical safety is at risk during PoleCon or who become aware of an attendee not in compliance with this policy should immediately notify the PoleCon front desk/registration desk so that the matter can be handled in an expeditious manner which may include involving local law enforcement.

COVID-19 Safety

PoleCon does not require masks for the 2023 (and beyond) event(s). Masks are optional. Some workshop leaders may prefer masks are worn during their workshops. If this is the case, they will provide them.

PoleCon reserves the right to modify COVID-19 safety protocols based on the laws and regulations governing the location of PoleCon at the time of the event. PoleCon will communicate this information as soon and as clearly as possible with attendees.

All PoleCon paid workshop leaders agree to the following COVID-19 related clause in their contracts (in practice since 2021): to work with PoleCon on all required health mitigations to safely attend the event including but not limited to wearing masks, providing proof of vaccination and/or negative PCR test or other as required by the federal government, local government, and/or hotel which may become relevant or required. As of December 2022, masks are optional at the event, negative tests or vaccines are not required. Artist knows this can change at any time.

All PoleCon attendees agree to the following clause (in practice since 2021 and in the attendee event booklet): by attending PoleCon, I acknowledge the evolving nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to the virus and become infected as a result of my attendance at PoleCon, despite safety measures in place. I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any expense, liability, illness, injury, disability or death related to testing positive for the virus during or after the event. By attending PoleCon, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless PoleCon from all claims arising out of COVID-19. I understand and agree that this release of liability includes any claims towards PoleCon, as well as conference personnel or representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurrence exists before, during, or after attendance and participation at the event.
