Circus Pagan is the intersection of neo-Pagan and circus arts. Why am I doing this?…
Great Gifts for the Pole Dancer in Your Life (maybe it’s you!)
So you have a friend, significant other, or family member who poles? Need some inspiration for a great gift for them?
The Art of Pole by Jamilla Deville. This is an extensive set of DVDs made by world famous Jamilla Deville. While I don’t recommend learning exclusively from DVDs, they are a great resource for ideas and improvements.
Leg Warmers! These are a must when it’s colder outside.
Floorwork DVDs. There are several great performers who have DVDs available. This is great for when your pole dancer can’t get to the studio due to weather. Check out Alethea Austin’s floorwork.
Dry Hands – this stuff is great for when your skin just isn’t gripping the pole well (or if your hands are sweaty!). This is a must for polers and makes a great stocking stuffer!
You can find cute tank tops and other pole clothes on Twisted Polerina, Artista Activewear, DerbySkinz, Booty Knights, DV8 Couture, Yogabela, Glory of LA and Wink Dancewear to name only a few!
Tiffany’s Glitter Heels are some beautifully amazing shoes and a great complement to any pole outfit. They come in many colors and styles, so there is something for everyone.
In the Las Vegas area? Or could be..? Grab your friend and head over to the Burlesque Hall of Fame on South First Street. This museum is a 501(c)3 and will accept donations, as they do not charge an admittance fee. Check them out if you are in the area!
If you’re on the east coast, the National Museum of Dance is located in Saratoga Springs and admission is only $6.50. This is another great thing to explore with your pole dancing friend (or a group of friends!).
Scour your local Groupon for workouts to complement your favorite pole dancer’s workouts. There could be some great deals on yoga, crossfit, or other aerial styles (aerial silks, trapeze) you could pick up – maybe buy one for yourself and have a fun time together!
Pole dancing is tough on the body so another great gift idea could be massage. The benefits of massage range from relaxing overused muscles, stress relief, and can help with soft tissue strains – all of these are things that most pole dancers have in abundance.
Or.. why not just spend some good quality time with your favorite pole dancer? Go to dinner at your favorite place, grab a drink, take in a movie, or just go for a walk. If it’s snowing, grab a snowball and aim for her head! Laugh, be merry, have fun, and make memories.. Because it’s the perfect time to do so.
Don’t forget, you can also nab a gift certificate to PoleCon before the early bird discount runs out!
