Interview with New PoleCon Instructor: Kira Bucca
We are sitting down to talk to our new instructors for PoleCon 2025! Learn more about them and then click here to purchase their workshop
1. We’re so excited to have you teach at PoleCon this year! Can you tell us a little more about what you’re teaching?
I’m super excited too! I’m teaching “Fancy Footwork”, which is all about tricks that need your feet on the pole. Who says pole dancing is all about the upper body? In this fun workshop you will learn the art of using your feet on the pole. From interesting climbs to step-ups and flying Ks to foot hooks, your feet can be an amazing asset for power and art!
2. Is there something that defines your style of teaching or your content that is unique to you?
I am a dynamic mover, this isn’t always about doing crazy tricks, but more about adding surprise to what I do. I like to leave my audience guessing. As for teaching, I’m an ex neuroscientist and math tutor. I am all about breaking down technique and looking at tricks and movements from lots of different angles. We all learn a little differently, and I love the challenge of finding the right path for each person.
3. What is the one thing you want your students to leave with after taking your workshop?
For all my workshops I want my students to leave more confident in their abilities to do tricks that are less traditional. For my Fancy Footwork workshop, I want them to fall in love with how their feet can help them on a pole!
4. What are you most excited about for PoleCon 2025?
I am most excited to be teaching for Pole Con! But I also love seeing all my friends and all the amazing performances!
5. Anything else you want to share with PoleCon attendees?
I will be performing in the Sport Showcase this year, if you would like to see some crazy moves!
