1. We’re so excited to have you teach at PoleCon this year! Can you tell us a little more about what you’re teaching?
Own You I.S.H. is a specialty class focusing on students learning how to allure an audience while in performance. This workshop will demonstrate techniques to help build your performance skills through eye contact, stage presence, use of props, musicality, and confidence. Whether you are a beginner or intermediate performer, you’ll be able to develop your ability to engage the audience all while being intentional, sexy, and hard to forget.
2. Is there something that defines your style of teaching or your content that is unique to you?
Being a curvy poler can have its challenges but there are so many more rewards. My style and content is unique because I see no limits, so my confidence and dance skills take center stage every time I perform or record or teach. I strive to break the glass ceiling by showing up and out in all spaces.
3. What is the one thing you want your students to leave with after taking your workshop?
I want my students to leave my workshop believing they are the Baddest there is. I want them to leave my workshop knowing how to own any room not only when performing but in what ever room they walk in. Confidence is the key to Owning their very own ISH!
4. What are you most excited about for PoleCon 2025?
I’m super excited to get the opportunity to teach my first paid workshop outside of my state to so many that I’ll be meetings for the first time.
5. Anything else you want to share with PoleCon attendees?
Own Your I.S.H. is my signature workshop because when participants leave, they leave feeling the best about themselves and it’s my opportunity to pour into them not just about pole but into their whole selves. Find Melons on instagram.
Colleen Jolly is an entrepreneur and a pole dance enthusiast. She has been poling for 13 years, is the CEO of PoleCon and the Executive Director of the IPIA. She teaches pole, lyra, floorwork, and mobility online and in-person in the DC metro area. She has been active in leadership roles in several international businesses over the past two decades and is also an award-winning pole dancer, artist, writer, and speaker. She is certified in several movement modalities and wrote the book "Mobility for Pole" to help pole dancers move better.
