Two PoleCons in 2025???

Yep, that’s correct. There will be TWO PoleCons in 2025!

PoleCon has found a home at Live! Hotel and Casino Maryland and (for the foreseeable future) will no longer travel every year.

This change has LOTS of positives and one negative – (potential) travel issues and associated costs!

Soooo, please meet PoleCon: West! An event specifically held closer to the West coast to make travel easier (for those not on the US East coast) and to include more people by offering more opportunities to perform, teach, and generally be a part of PoleCon.

This event will be smaller than PoleCon with less showcases, less vendors, and less workshops and also be slightly shorter. It will run from Friday-Sunday instead of Thursday-Sunday with no multi-day certifications before the event starts (there may be some single day options or intensives). It will follow the same general PoleCon format of showcases, workshops, vendors, and of course food!

There are a few differences that are confirmed now (keep reading!) and there may be some new surprises in the works too!

Right now, we just have one PoleCon: West scheduled. We’ll see how it does and then decide if we will run another. If we do, it will likely travel annually around the Western part of the US like PoleCon previously did.

How will the events be different?

Showcases

There will be several NEW showcases at PoleCon: West!

  • AAPI Polers United (curated by Natasha Wang) for Asian American and Pacific Islanders
  • Cospole Fusion (curated by Jiggly Senpai) for pole + cosplay fans
  • Flexy Flow for flexibility flow polers – think of it as PowerFlow’s cousin
  • Moms Who Pole (curated by California Andrea) for all parents and caretakers
  • OGs (curated by Jordan Kensley) for those that have previously performed at PoleCon

Returning showcases at PoleCon: West will be:

  • Aerial
  • Black Girls Pole
  • Queer Pole
  • Sexy
  • Troupes and Groups
  • Up and Coming Stars

There are no changes to the PoleCon showcases this year. They remain:

  • Aerial
  • Black Girls Pole
  • Contemporary/Artistic
  • Creepy
  • Dangerous Curves
  • Experimental
  • Freestyle
  • Latin Heritage
  • Low Flow and Floorwork
  • Men of Pole
  • Para Pole
  • Pole Comedy
  • Pole Masters and Grand Masters
  • PowerFlow
  • Queer Pole
  • Sexy
  • Sport
  • Troupes and Groups
  • Up and Coming Stars
  • Youth (under 18)

Everyone is encouraged to apply for free to the showcase that fits them the best! This includes polers of all genders, sizes, ability levels, nationalities, ethnicities, and careers – yes, sex workers and strippers are explicitly welcome in every category at every PoleCon and PoleCon: West showcase!

PoleCon showcases have evolved over the years and PoleCon: West showcases will also evolve. Read this post for a history of PoleCon showcases 2024 and prior.

Panels

There will be two new panels at PoleCon: West

  • Pole Business Panel
  • Pole Safety Practices Panel

Panels at PoleCon remain the same:

  • Plus Size Panel
  • Stripper/Sex Worker Panel
  • Queer Panel
  • Race and Cultural Appropriation in Pole Panel

Workshops

The workshop structure will remain the same at both events with 30-minute free (included in your pass to PoleCon) seminars, 60-minute free workshops, and 90-minute free panels. There will also be 90-minute pole and non-pole paid workshops available to purchase.

There will be no multi-day certifications offered at PoleCon: West in 2025 also because the event is shorter.

There will be no privates offered at PoleCon: West in 2025 because of space availability.
There will still be privates offered at PoleCon.
