We are sitting down to talk to our new instructors for PoleCon 2024! Learn more about them and then click here to purchase their workshop

1. We’re so excited to have you teach at PoleCon this year! Can you tell us a little more about what you’re teaching?

My Bawdy Burlesque workshop is all about releasing your inner baddie and learning techniques and choreography from both classic burlesque and neo burlesque roots. This workshop will be partially about learning the different skills and techniques and then we will incorporate them into a fun and flirty routine at the end. All the glitz and glam is welcome in this workshop and costumes are also super fun and welcome in this environment! I recommend anything with rhinestones or fringe! This class is open for all skill levels and any body type, and whether you are a newbie or a pro burlesque babe, this workshop will benefit everyone. Learn how to chasse your way across any stage, and enthrall any audience with sultry and sassy choreography that can be performed in any venue!

2. Is there something that defines your style of teaching or your content that is unique to you?

My entire vibe is positivity and encouragement while serving up confidence and owning every stage I set foot on. I strive to be the one people think about after the show, and be the reason they keep coming back for more. All the sassy sexy vibes all the time!

3. What is the one thing you want your students to leave with after taking your workshop?

I want my students to leave with not only some fun new tricks up their performance sleeves, but a new found sense of confidence in themselves as they take on any stage or venue going forward. I want them to own every performance, class, or solo dance session every time!

4. What are you most excited about for PoleCon 2024?

I am SO excited to teach my first workshop at PoleCon! But apart from this, I am always so excited for the showcases! I love seeing the talent that is in the industry. It’s truly immaculate!

5. Anything else you want to share with PoleCon attendees?

TAKE THE WORKSHOP! If you are thinking about it, there’s a reason! I’ve always fully enjoyed the workshops or seminars I’ve taken at PoleCon and have gained so much knowledge and skill from them over time. Definitely check out the new instructors too, we are ready for you!;)

Colleen Jolly is an entrepreneur and a pole dance enthusiast. She has been poling for 12 years, is the CEO of PoleCon and the Executive Director of the IPIA. She teaches pole, lyra, floorwork, and mobility online and in-person in the DC metro area. She has been active in leadership roles in several international businesses over the past two decades and is also an award-winning pole dancer, artist, writer, and speaker. She is certified in several movement modalities and wrote the book "Mobility for Pole" to help pole dancers move better.
