Interview with New PoleCon Instructor: Kelly Goss
We are sitting down to talk to our new instructors for PoleCon 2024! Learn more about them and then click here to purchase their workshop
1. We’re so excited to have you teach at PoleCon this year! Can you tell us a little more about what you’re teaching?
I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of PoleCon this year! Teaching pole dance is my passion, and I’m ecstatic to share my Ballerina BadAssery workshop with all of you. The Ballerina shape is not just about grace and flow—it’s also a powerhouse move! During this workshop, I’ll dive into creative entries and exits for the Ballerina, both on the ground and in the air. Explore with me the myriad of unique shapes this pose can take, and learn my personal tips and tricks for seamlessly transitioning into it or adding a powerful twist to your spins. Get ready to elevate your pole game and make your Ballerina spins truly badass!
2. Is there something that defines your style of teaching or your content that is unique to you?
As a licensed massage therapist with nearly two decades of experience and a decade-long journey in both sports and exotic pole competitions, my teaching style is uniquely shaped by my extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology. I believe that understanding how your muscles work and how to engage them effectively on the pole can be transformative. Drawing from my competition background, I bring a dynamic, power-poler approach to my instruction, while infusing every lesson with a touch of sensuality. My goal is to not only educate you about your body and muscle engagements but also to empower you to unleash your inner Pole Power Bad Ass, exuding confidence and sex appeal with every move you make.
3. What is the one thing you want your students to leave with after taking your workshop?
My ultimate goal for every student attending my workshop is to experience a breakthrough moment—a true epiphany—where they grasp a concept or technique in a way they’ve never encountered before. I aim to provide a clear, detailed breakdown of movements and muscle engagement on the pole, empowering each participant with a newfound understanding of their physical capabilities. As they leave the workshop, I want them to feel inspired, empowered, confident, utterly bad ass and filled with self-love, ready to conquer new challenges up & down the pole.
4. What are you most excited about for PoleCon 2024?
It’s impossible to choose just one thing to be excited about for PoleCon 2024! Of course, teaching is a highlight for me, but I’m equally thrilled about reconnecting with old friends in the pole community and meeting new pole enthusiasts. The energy and support from this community are truly invigorating and inspiring. I can’t wait to witness the showcase performances and soak up knowledge from every corner—I’m ready to learn all the things! Pole Con is simply the best, and I’m overflowing with excitement!
5. Anything else you want to share with PoleCon attendees?
Please don’t be afraid to come and introduce yourself to me! I want to meet everyone! I’m told my looks can be intimidating, but I promise I’m really nice & always want new pole friends! Can’t wait to squeeze everyone!! ♥️
Ps. If you’re attending my workshop, I encourage taking notes & videos!
