Interview with New PoleCon Instructor: Chiemi Chunga
We are sitting down to talk to our new instructors for PoleCon 2024! Learn more about them and then click here to purchase their workshop
1. We’re so excited to have you teach at PoleCon this year! Can you tell us a little more about what you’re teaching?
I will be teaching some of my favorite tricks and transitions that sneak into my competition routines. My “go to” tricks including swirling legs, flairs, and static rotation.
2. Is there something that defines your style of teaching or your content that is unique to you?
I love the element of surprise. I try to find uncommon ways into tricks so you’ll never know what’s coming 😉
3. What is the one thing you want your students to leave with after taking your workshop?
I want students to feel like they can explore. Maybe take the longest pathway to get to where you want to be. There is lots of failing when you try something new. But, it’s worth finding your signature moves.
4. What are you most excited about for PoleCon 2024?
This will be my first PoleCon! I am excited for all of it! The pole community is the best and most welcoming!
5. Anything else you want to share with PoleCon attendees?
FUN FACT: I’m half Japanese and my middle name is Chiemi. Chiemi Chunga is my childhood nickname. Also Chi Me, Chi Me Aye, Chunga, and Chiemi Chunga Bunga Wunga. But you can call me by my legal name Cara 😉
I have been teaching pole at DivaFit in Herndon VA for over 10 years! I cross train handstands with ShellyFlex Athletics, and I’m an affiliate for The Bendy Brand. Cant wait to meet you!
