Interview with New PoleCon Instructor: Cosmic Grip
We are sitting down to talk to our new instructors for PoleCon: West 2025! Learn more about them and then click here to purchase their workshop
1. We’re so excited to have you teach at PoleCon: West this year! Can you tell us a little more about what you’re teaching?
We are thrilled as well! This is our first time teaching at PoleCon and we’re bringing the kind of energy we love most: dynamic doubles flow. We love bringing movement and expression into our doubles work, and this class really captures our connected flow and performance style.
Our intermediate-level workshop, Doubles Tricks & Flow, is packed with some of our favorite partnered tricks and transitions. It’s a mix of playful connection, creative shapes, and coordinated storytelling. We’ll explore balance, weight sharing, and shared momentum, then put it all together into a signature Cosmic Grip-style sequence.
You don’t need a partner to sign up; we’ll match you in class if you come solo. Just show up ready to move together, experiment, and have fun.
2. Is there something that defines your style of teaching or your content that is unique to you?
Our signature in pole doubles is definitely our flow — the way we weave our individual styles into one connected movement. We don’t just do tricks; we’re always asking, “How does this move feel together? Where does it want to go next?” That blend of fluidity, communication, and trust is what makes our style stand out in our movement and in how we teach.
As instructors, we really focus on technique and connection. Our goal is for everyone to feel grounded in what they’re doing and understand the mechanics of how to move safely and beautifully with a partner.
We’re also both a little nerdy (okay, a lot nerdy), and we bring that energy into our teaching by always encouraging curiosity, thoughtful movement, and little “aha!” moments. Exploration without pressure is always encouraged.
Whether on the floor or the pole, our goal is to help our students and audience feel connected, supported, and a little more fearless.
3. What is the one thing you want your students to leave with after taking your workshop?
Our biggest hope as instructors is to inspire the feeling of being empowered to move with someone else, and to see pole as more than just a solo art, but as a shared experience full of connection, trust, and play. We want every student to leave feeling proud, curious, and seen, like they were part of something they helped create.
Oh, and hopefully with a little sparkle in their heart… and maybe still on their clothes from our glitter ✨
4. What are you most excited about for PoleCon: West 2025?
We’re so excited to be part of the very first PoleCon West! It feels really special to contribute to something new and help expand the reach of this incredible event.
We’re also really looking forward to the new showcases, including the OG Showcase that we will be performing in. It’s always inspiring, energizing, and magical seeing so many different artists and styles share the stage.
Plus, it’s our first time teaching at PoleCon, so we’re buzzing with excitement to meet everyone, take classes, perform, cheer for our fellow performers and instructors, and soak it all in! As always, we can’t wait to feel the energy of the pole community in person.
5. Anything else you want to share with PoleCon: West attendees?
Yes! In addition to our paid workshop, we’re also offering a free beginner-level class called Joint Effort: Duo Dynamics. It’s a grounded, gentle intro to partner movement — all about communication, connection, and discovering the joy of moving with someone else. Again, no partner needed — just come as you are and we’ll guide you through. Space will be limited though, so we recommend coming early to snag a spot.
Also, we’ll be around the whole weekend, so if you see us with our glitter, tattoos, or chaotic matching energy — please say hi! We’re so excited to connect with the our community and meet the folks who make PoleCon special 💜 Let’s move, laugh, and share in our love of pole together.
