Interview with New PoleCon Instructor: Sinnamon Noir
We are sitting down to talk to our new instructors for PoleCon: West 2025! Learn more about them and then click here to purchase their workshop
1. We’re so excited to have you teach at PoleCon: West this year! Can you tell us a little more about what you’re teaching?
I’ll be teaching In the Flesh! A workshop that blends sensual movement, musicality, and through pole. This class is designed to help dancers drop into their bodies and explore grounded, intentional movement, whether they’re freestyling or working through choreo. You can expect a mix of choreography, opportunities for play, and to leave with a better understanding of your body and feeling good.
2. Is there something that defines your style of teaching or your content that is unique to you?
My dance style is slinky and influenced with a touch of edgework. My musicality is heavily influenced by Brazilian Zouk & hip hop, which emphasizes grounding, fluidity, frame, and head movement. I bring those themes into my pole work by focusing not just on what we’re doing, but how it feels in the body, how we can utilize the body’s natural chain of movement, and how it connects us to the music and to ourselves. My classes often include guided exploration, musicality prompts, and intentional movement cues, with space for students to express their own artistry.
3. What is the one thing you want your students to leave with after taking your workshop?
A deeper connection to their body and the confidence to move with intention and presence. Whether someone nails every move or just finds one moment of magic, I want them to leave feeling more in tune with themselves and inspired to keep exploring.
4. What are you most excited about for PoleCon: West 2025?
Definitely the community. There’s nothing quite like being surrounded by so many different styles, perspectives, and passionate dancers all in one space. I’m excited to teach, take class, meet new people, and soak in all the joy and inspiration PoleCon brings.
5. Anything else you want to share with PoleCon: West attendees?
Come as you are! All of you is welcome. Whether you’re playful, nervous, bold, or reflective, there’s space for that in my class. I can’t wait to connect, move, vibe, and create something beautiful together.
